What we look for
We are not after the lowest price or constant rush orders. We want a partner who makes quality products with honest lead times: calm, serene, healthy business, and the pleasure of working on good products.
What we will talk about together
| Topic | Why it matters to us |
|---|---|
| Minimum per design and colourway | Why it matters to usWe order per club: small runs of each design, repeated through the season. |
| Lead time on a reorder | Why it matters to usClubs reorder the same kit. A reliable reorder time matters more to us than speed. |
| Sampling | Why it matters to usWe validate quality on samples before a new product goes into production. |
| In-house sublimation | Why it matters to usAll our kit is sublimated to each club's design: printing and sewing under one roof keeps things simple. |
| Certifications | Why it matters to usTell us which ones you hold (for example OEKO-TEX®). |
| Country | Why it matters to usTell us where your production sites are. |
Did you know?
- 1919
The first yellow jersey
The Tour de France leader's yellow jersey was first worn on 19 July 1919 by Eugène Christophe. Its colour came from the paper of L'Auto, the newspaper that ran the race.
- 1958
Elastane is born
Joseph Shivers, a chemist at DuPont, invented the stretch fibre later sold as Lycra® in 1958. Modern bib shorts and skinsuits would not exist without it.
- Wool
Before synthetics
Until the late 1970s, racing jerseys were knitted from wool: warm even when wet, but heavy once soaked with rain or sweat.
- Chamois
Why the pad is a “chamois”
Bib-short pads are still called chamois because they were once cut from chamois leather, which had to be kept supple with cream. Today they are technical foams.
- Physics
How sublimation works
Heat turns the dye from a solid straight into a gas, which bonds with the polyester fibres. The print becomes part of the fabric: it does not crack, peel or fade in the wash.
- 1975
The polka dots
The Tour's best climber has worn the red polka-dot jersey since 1975. Its pattern is said to come from the wrappers of the sponsor's chocolate bars.
